Sulphuric Acid Plant Brief process:
  • Testing of sulphur for quality
  • Purification of sulphur by melting & decantation
  • Burning of sulphur to form sulphur DI oxide
  • Cooling of SO2 & generation of steam.
  • Filtration of gases for dust
  • Conversion of SO2 to SO3 in converter in presence of V2O5 catalyst
  • Cooling of reacted gases
  • Absorption of SO3 in H2SO4
  • Heating of remainder gases
  • Conversion of SO2 to SO3 in converter in presence of V2O5 catalyst
  • Absorption of SO3 in H2SO
  • Cooling and diluting H2SO4 to 98.5%
  • Transfer of product in product
